Bereavement

In the event of a bereavement, in the first instance please contact  the United Synaogogue Burial Society on 020 8950 7767, or when it is closed, 07957 119 119.

If you have any difficulty reaching the US Burial Society, please contact Rabbi Shindler.  During normal office hours, if you are still having difficulty, please contact the CNSS shul office.

You will need to obtain a death certificate stating the cause of death and take the death certificate to the Registrar for Births and Deaths in the area where the death occurred.

CNSS can assist you with the shiva (morning period, and prayers in the house of morning), including providing you with shiva chairs, prayer books and a candle.  The Shul also has a Chevra Kadisha.

The Shul will also contact you on the anniversary of the death of your relative, so that a yahrzeit prayer may be said.

The Shul has a beautiful memorial board on which plaques may be placed to honour departed family members.

Finally, the Shul has a Shared Memories lounge.  This currently takes place both online at Old Farm Avenue on alternate Monday evenings.  Please check the Events Calendar for the date of the next meeting, and contact suzanne1307@hotmail.co.uk if you wish to join.

For further information about any of this, please contact the Shul office on 020 8886 8225 or by emailing office@cnss.co.uk.
