About Us

News

CNSS has hit the headlines as we lead the way in our drive for inclusivity and accessibility.  Click here to see us featured in the JC.  Our recent Shabbat for Israel Malava Malka with KippaLive also featured in both the JC and Jewish News.

Coffee&Company Live celebrated its fifth anniversary recently, with special guest Justin Cohen (Jewish News) in conversation with Danny Hockman.  The MT Hall was packed and others joined on line, celebrating this wonderful achievement that’s become such a cherished fixture in the weekly calendar.

CLC started its new term on 26th March with an illuminating talk by International Law specialist barrister Natasha Hausdorff.  See CNSS Connect and social media for information about the rest of the programme.

Our Pesach Parcels appeal is now live and more urgent than ever.  Please help if you can.

Our kid’s midweek club is now known as Club3-6, to reflect the fact that it’s aimed at primary-aged children between years 3 and 6.  It’s still the fantastic Tuesday night it’s been since it began, and we can’t wait to seeing lots of young members and their friends at Old Farm Avenue.  As before, we ask for a small contribution to cover activities and a little nosh.  See you on Tuesday!

Knitting and Crochet.  We’re planning to hold a regular knitting and crochet circle.  Interested?  Let us know so we can fix a date.

Whist etc. Come along to our cards club, featuring whist, kalooki and whatever you fancy.  Every Tuesday morning.

  And on Wednesdays…

Charity Collections.  We are collecting various items, particular of children’s clothing and other items for children for Sebby’s Corner and those listed below for Goods for Good.  Please bring anything you can spare that may be useful to OFA.

The Maurice Tillkoff Hall  Following its recent refurbishment, our hall now looks fantastic and is fit to host your regular club or meeting event, or your one-off Simcha.  We’ve added some photos to our gallery, with more to follow.  If you would like to come and have a look or enquire about booking, do give us a call.  Don’t forget, the Hall is fully accessible with the recent installation of a lift, and our kosher kitchens are large, modern and well equipped.

Weekly shiurim.  On Monday mornings, after Shacharit, Rabbi Shindler is leading a weekly class on Tractate Pesachim.  Refreshments, of course, provided.  Rabbi Shindler is also holding a Shiuron Thursday evenings.  All this, of course, in addition to our regular educational and social programmes.  See CNSS Connect each week to keep up to date!

Security.  We would be enormously grateful if members who are not currently volunteering for our Shabbat security rota would offer to do so.  The more volunteers we have, the fewer the shifts each volunteer would be asked to do.  Please contact the Shul office to help us with this if you possibly can.  The security of all our members and visitors is paramount and there is no more important a contribution that you could possibly make than to help keep us all safe.

Old Farm Avenue.  It’s never too late to support CNSS’s fund-raising for the hall and related infrastructure projects.  You can donate using this link.

Minyanim.  Could we ask adult male members to make every effort to support the weekday minyan, particularly to enable members to say kaddish?

Details of our CLC, C&C Live, Lunch and Learn and other events and programmes can of course be found on our Events Calendar and in the CNSS Connect weekly newsletter.

For security reasons, members will find links and passwords for Zoom events in separate emails, WhatsApp groups and other Shul communications such as CNSS Connect.  However if you have any problems, do contact the office and let us know.
